Heinz is a Cook Islander and Principal of the Cook Islands law firm Matysik & Marshall P.C. Before returning to the Cook Islands to live in 2009, Heinz worked as a lawyer in New Zealand and for a leading international US law firm, in London, Frankfurt and Munich. He has extensive experience in banking and finance, commercial and corporate law, and conveyancing. Heinz is a Chambers and Partners Global ranked lawyer for the Pacific Islands. He is also the Chair of the Cook Islands National Superannuation Fund board, Chair of Capital Security Bank Limited, and an independent director of Southpac Trust Limited. Heinz has previously sat on the board of the Cook Islands Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC). He is currently the Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany to the Cook Islands. Heinz has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland and is a full member of The Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP). Ben is an Australian born lawyer and has been working at Matysik & Marshall P.C. since early 2014 becoming a Principal in 2021. Before coming to the Cook Islands, Ben worked at a commercial litigation firm in Brisbane, Australia after working at a free community legal centre. He has experience in commercial litigation and property law. Ben is a Chambers and Partners Global ranked lawyer for the Pacific Islands and the current Vice President of the Cook Islands Law Society. Sean is a Cook Islander who completed his secondary and tertiary education in New Zealand. After leaving Rarotonga to board at King’s College in Auckland for 5 years, he went on to attend the University of Otago, completing a Bachelor of Arts (politics major) in 2013 and a Bachelor of Laws in 2016. Sean moved back to Rarotonga in November 2016 where he began his legal career with Matysik & Marshall P.C. Sean was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of the Cook Islands in March 2017. A former Cook Islands representative rugby player, Sean has previously served as the President of the Cook Islands Rugby Union.
